getting to Hanwell Village

We have recently moved to Hanwell Fields from London in order to bring up our children closer to the countryside, unfortunatly I dont drive and we have found it very difficult to get around. We would love to visit Hanwell Village and the surrounding countryside but need to know a safe route on foot. Can anyone please help us, it is now the summer holidays and we would love to get the children out exploring and finding out more about the area and to have some idilic summer picnics ( the only animals they have seen so far are the donkeys and goats on the Southam Road !!!!)
