Wow - they are all great ideas. Personally the idea of a booklet about the history of Hanwell would be excellent. And as for talks once per month - I would be delighted to give one for FREE about the Rainforest, spiders and my past and (hopefully) forthcoming books on field trips Ecuador and Australia in search of giant spiders and other animals!
Now - to my own suggestion. What about money to pay for a photograph of the village residents) We could all get together on the playing field and have a huge group photo of the complete cast which would be fun. It is not as good as the other suggestions but it's worth a punt.

You may have read in the last edition of Hanwell News that there is funding available for a project in the village. Villagers are invited to send suggestions for how this money should be spent and will be invited to vote on these suggestions.
This forum is one of the ways that suggestions can be put forward, so please, do think how we might make best use of this money and send in your ideas, you can put forward more than one suggestion.
One idea is that we might pay a history undergraduate to put together a history of Hanwell, gathering material from long time residents of the village.
Another is that we investigate a new electricity metering system to make better use of heating the village hall.
And yet another is that it is used to fund a series of monthly talks by invited speakers, followed by a glass of wine, to be free to all residents.
So, can you add to the list? Let's hear your suggestions.
